La Roche-Posay gave out two $10,000 research grants to the winners of the 7th annual La Roche-Posay North American Foundation’s 2012 Research Awards, which supports the work of outstanding candidates with promising projects in the field of clinical, biological and pharmacological research linked to dermatology. Sarina B. Elmariah, MD, PhD, from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, was awarded for her project, The Role of Proteases and Neurogenic Inflammation in the Pathogenesis of Atopic Dermatitis. Marie S. Tuttle, MD, from Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Case Medical Center, was awarded for her project, Longitudinal Microbiome Shifts May Affect Innate Immune Responses in Delayed Wound Healing. These two prominent researchers received their awards at the La Roche-Posay North American Foundation awards dinner during the 2012 American Academy of Dermatology 70th annual meeting. Each research abstract submitted was evaluated by members of the La Roche-Posay North American Scientific Committee comprised of academic leaders.

“La Roche-Posay is dedicated to supporting life-changing research and building a strong partnership with future leaders in the field of dermatology,” said Yannick Raynaud, general manager of La Roche-Posay USA. “This year’s winners were chosen from 17 submissions and recognized for their excellent academic work and their commitment to expanding dermatological research.”
